1963
FABRIGAS, pioneer and leader in the Central American gases market, partnered with HOBART BROTHERS of the United States — leader in welding products and machines — in the first international partnership Hobart Bros. ever entered into outside the U.S. and worldwide. Electrodos de Centro América (Hobart-Ayau & Cía. Ltda) was founded — today known as ECA ELECTRODOS, S.A. The new company was created to offer the industry conventional electrodes manufactured in the Central American region, with the quality and backing of HOBART products sold worldwide.
2004
Partnership of FABRIGAS and Grupo Infra, founding Productos del Aire for the production and commercialization of medicinal and industrial gases.
2005
Partnership of FABRIGAS and Electrodos Infra for the manufacture and commercialization of welding products in Guatemala and the Central American region under the name ECA Electrodos, S.A.
2008
ECA Electrodos absorbs the high-carbon drawn wire operation from FABRIGAS.
2009
ECA Electrodos expands its high-carbon wire drawing capacity from 200 to 800 metric tons per month.
2025
We strengthen our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. We modernize processes under ISO 9001:2015 standards and invest in sustainability and talent development to remain Central America's most trusted welding ally.
